CIFAR Strategy

In 2024, CIFAR launched it’s new strategy. The strategy sets a bold path for advancing research and tackling the world’s most pressing challenges and the design needed to reflect that.

As Senior Manager of Strategy & Design, I had the privilege of bringing this vision to life. Collaborating with researchers, designers, and strategic leaders, we crafted a narrative that reflects CIFAR's commitment to innovation and impact. The visual identity balances clarity with creativity, ensuring our audiences feel inspired, informed, and engaged. From striking imagery to dynamic storytelling, every element has been designed to convey the power of collaborative discovery.

The strategy was designed to be presented in a digital-first way, emphasizing dynamic visuals and accessible content. To bring CIFAR’s research to life, we incorporated powerful photography of researchers alongside striking science imagery, connecting people to the impactful work being done.

To maintain visual consistency across all marketing channels, key elements from the digital report were strategically adapted for CIFAR’s social media platforms.

Though the strategy had a digital-first approach, a printed version was essential for sharing with key external stakeholders. The print spreads echo the visual language of the digital platform while offering a tangible experience that invites readers to explore CIFAR's vision in depth. The full layout can be viewed here.
